3. Background​

Thomas P. Farrell, Ph.D. is a materials chemist with industrial and research experience in coatings, formulation, and applied materials development. He holds a Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry from UCLA, where his doctoral research produced three issued U.S. patents in polymer membrane technology. He is the founder of Defiant Materials LLC and has worked on technical problems relevant to aerospace manufacturing, specialty chemicals, and advanced materials commercialization, including a coating formulation qualified to aerospace specification BAC 4555. His current research, including a pending U.S. patent application in advanced carbon materials synthesis, extends this work into new areas of applied materials chemistry.
